Summary
Objectives
Adult Education services have access and a relationship of trust to many marginalised communities. This consortium seeks to explore how to build upon these relationships to strengthen the ability of adult education services to outreach to marginalised groups, such as LTUA, NEETs, and forced migrants, through exploring the use of participatory art and urban participation methodologies within service provision. The ultimate goal is to challenge the marginalisation of our target groups.
Activities
1. Two study visits and job-shadowing activities, in Brussels and Madeira, engaging with cases of innovative outreach and participation.
2. Casebook of innovative initiatives, multimedia, compiled and presented to adult education institutions.
3. One working group of sector experts, to build upon the casebook and learnings for future collaborations.
4. Dissemination through four sets of multiplier actions.
Impact
1. A network of 20+ adult educators having explored new and innovative tools to engage with marginalised communities in urban settings.
2. A casebook to support educators to apply our methods in different contexts.
3. Greater involvement of marginalised communities within adult education services.
4. Grown capacity of our consortium to develop new actions in the important area of migrant engagement and critical reflection.
