Summary
The Small Collaborative Partnership was implemented from January 2019 – May 2021 by 5 educational and sport organisations from Poland, Spain, Portugal and Latvia.
Objectives of the project were as following:
– development of skills and competences of sport youth workers from 4 countries
– development of transnational network and cooperation of organizations active in the field of outdoor sport youth empowerment education, exchange of experience among partners
– raise the intercultural competences and sense of solidarity
– mainstreaming of the EU sport and youth policies
– by the large dissemination of the project results on local, national and European level to different target groups: learners, stakeholders, members of the partner organizations.
– working out innovative educational content and tools – by the common intellectual work on the publication and the educational movie
– rising awareness, understanding and appreciation of the values, rights and opportunities created by the EU in communities.
Within the project frame, we organised three Transnational Meetings: kick-off in Poland, hiking training course in Madeira Island and Spain as an exchange of experiences and know-how of the international group of outdoor trainers, youth workers and mountain guides from Poland, Latvia, Portugal and Spain. We produced the educational movie, 10 short videos describing nature-based methods implemented and publication with the project results. Approaches and methodologies in the project included sport and experiential learning in outdoor, work with 4 dimensions of human nature: mind, body, emotions, human nature – which is very effective but still innovative in Europe approach, described as “holistic”. The main reason of high efficacy of the proposed methodologies is based on the assumption that learning experience MUST take out the learner out of the comfort zone. Otherwise, real, sustainable, long-lasting change is not possible. Project’s innovative methodology and results of partners exchange apply not only to a specific local or regional context, but to the European arena as a whole, supporting outdoor sport youth work in European community in future.
